The DELF (Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française) is a French proficiency certification for non-native speakers of the French language. It is awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify ones proficiency in the French language. It is composed of four independent diplomas corresponding to the first four levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages namely:
- DELF A1
- DELF A2
- DELF B1
- DELF B2
At each level, 4 different language proficiencies are evaluated namely:
Listening, Reading, Writing and SpeakingThe DELF diplomas are valid for life and are recognized throughout the whole world making them the best way to officially certify ones level of proficiency in French.
