The B. Sc (Hons) Computing programme aims to provide a broad education in computing and business information systems. It is the central course in the computing group of degrees, incorporating options from both B. Sc (Hons) Computing & Website Development and B. Sc (Hons) Computer Networks & Security and is therefore the most flexible choice of all the computing degrees available to study at Bolton.
This course offers a broad coverage of computing subjects, with a core of key computing skills and options in a wide range of computing areas. Students are involved in systems analysis activities, technical and human aspects of design and software development. The course has run successfully here for many years, with continuous developments to modules to ensure current and future trends are examined.
Graduates from the B. Sc (Hons) Computing have the widest range of career opportunities. The main themes explored and developed across all three years of the course are: systems analysis, database design, programming, website development, communications skills, group work and project work.
