Course and Contents
The aim of this course is to provide candidates with underpinning knowledge in order for them to understand the role and responsibility of the Appointed Person. Following successful completion of the course, candidates will be able to identify and implement safe systems of work for lifting operations including writing risk assessments and method statements. As per UAE construction standards, appoint person is mandatory in all major lifting activities.

Mr. Mark Hoggard, is a motivated and professional individual who has over 25 years of experience as a trainer and tester/examiner within lifting operations. He worked in UK, Uganda, Korea, Japan, America, Kuwait, Qatar and UAE and able to work within a team or as an individual in isolated locations. His expertise includes Appointed Person, Lifting Supervisor, mobile cranes, Crawle, Crane, Slinger, Cranes and Forklift Trucks, Lifting Accessories Examiner, Appointed Person, Training and Development.
Mr. Hoggard is currently the Training Director of Arbrit UK Lifting and Training Solutions which is a training company wherein he performs overall responsibility for the structure, quality of training and development in health and safety. Prior to this, he held numerous key positions from respective companies such as Certex UK, Ainscough Training Services Ltd and Ainscough Crane HIre as a Training Manager, Trainer, Tester, and Crane Operator.
