Objective:
To teach the basic skill requirements, practical applications and associated job safety knowledge to personnel involved in slinging, lifting and signaling operations. At the end of the course successful delegates should be able to identify, select, inspect and use slings and lifting tackle both safely and efficiently.
Who should attend?
This course is aimed at delegates who wants to be a rigger or require refresher training after completing a full rigging, lifting and slinging course within the last two years.

- Being aware of the HSE and statutory requirements
- Rigger’s Responsibilities
- Identifying basic equipment used in rigging
- Using basic items of rigging equipment safely and effectively
- Selecting and using the correct equipment for the task
- Sling capacity and Safe Working Load (SWL)
- Inspection and use of different types of lifting equipment
- Types and correct use of slings Tying knots, bends and hitches
- Recommended procedures for maintenance and storage of all lifting equipment.
- Various methods of slinging
- Crane Signals
- Practical demonstration of inspection of lifting equipment.
- Practical demonstration with course participants using the correct crane signals.
