It is an International Part Time course in Obstetric Ultrasound, in a partnership with Lifeway Training Center Sharjah, UAE and Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU), Scotland UK.

Its a 3-year program:

1st year--> Postgraduate Certificate Course 60 credits
2nd year--> Postgraduate Diploma Course 120 credits
3rd year--> Masters in Ultrasound Diploma 180 credits

The first year is the Postgraduate Certificate course that focuses on the Principles of Medical Ultrasound and its Practice in Obstetric Ultrasound. After successfully completing the first year candidates will receive their degree directly from the UK University and can choose to either exit with this Certificate or continue onwards to the Diploma and Masters.

The PgC Medical Ultrasound programme (International) offers flexibility to students with exit awards at Masters (MSc), Postgraduate Diploma (PgD) and Postgraduate Certificate (PgC) levels. Therefore it is Not compulsory to do all three years, Candidates have the option to exit at any level; if they do not wish to continue after the first year they can opt out with 60 credits and a Certificate Degree or continue to the Diploma year and then choose to opt out with a Diploma with 120 credits, or continue onward to the MSc year.

All the candidates will undertake exactly the same modules as the on-campus students back in the UK and therefore will achieve the same educational learning outcomes and practice experience. It will be taught by tutors who come to the UAE from the GCU university in three separate teaching blocks within the year, which consist of four-day classes in each block. The third block is usually held at the end of each year as a clinical assessment.

These teachings are held onsite at the Lifeway Training center and attendance is mostly only required during those classes, otherwise, candidates shall continue practicing scanning within their workplace and occasionally send updates and images for review of progress. This course is made to help accommodate candidates to achieve a degree in obstetric ultrasound from the UK while continuing their full-time work and not having to travel to the UK for it.

The program not only includes clinical training but also assignments, reflections and assessment processes, however, constant support is always provided by the staff and doctors from the training center throughout the program year to help get through the workload. We have already had candidates who have completed their training and collected their degrees according to the year they chose to exit.

Lifeway Training Center facilitates the admission process but once enrolled it is a direct enrolment to the university, receiving an online student ID and email to maintain constant communication with the staff from the university as well as obtain complete access to all their online services like their website, lectures, library materials etc.

The main admission requirement is completing the Academic IELTS with a score of 5.5 in each segment with an overall score of 6. Along with a UK Honours degree 2:2 (or equivalent); or an unclassified degree or professional diploma with over two years professional experience

This course is targeted to: Health care professionals with relevant experience and a very keen interest in the area.

Faculty from the UK University will come to the UAE and conduct all the training in two teaching blocks in a year, along with one or two short courses in between delivering only hands on training.
