ABOUT THE COURSE:

Join Benedicte on this 4 part series where you will deepen your knowledge and understanding of Yoga’s essentials and the foundation practices known to bring strength, health and resilience to your body, and calmness, peace and clarity to your mind and soul. This course has been specifically designed for those students that may be either new to Yoga or just those who have an interest in further exploring their practice and getting back into the basics. Your teacher will guide you through an introduction to what yoga is, including physical Asana practice (the postures) Pranayama (breathing techniques) and Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation).


THIS COURSE IS DESIGNED FOR YOU IF YOU:

• are completely new to yoga or if you have tried a few classes and want to really get going with yoga.

• are looking for classes at a gentle, introductory level;

• wish to gain an understanding of the fundamental and underlying principles of yoga;

• have any conditions which may prevent you from joining regular classes;



WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

• introduction to different approaches to yoga and different yoga styles

• the background and benefits of Hatha Yoga

• foundational and most common yoga postures and understanding the six categories of poses and their effects

• basic yoga breathing methods

• linking breath with movement

• ‘flow’ sequences and Sun Salutations

• how to calm your mind and relax your body

• basic meditation and yoga nidra



WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE:

• A gentle, systematic and safe introduction to yoga suitable for people who have no experience, or who wish to learn the basics.

• 4 lessons which are of a 60 minute duration each. Choose your preferred day, the course runs Tuesdays at 7 pm and Thursdays at 4 pm.

• Easy and accessible yoga practices. Modifications and alternate practices given as needed (for instance if injury or limitation is a factor)



WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING:

• No need to bring a mat or equipment. We provide yoga mats, blankets, bolsters and straps.

• We'll be moving, stretching, sitting and lying down so wear comfortable clothes.

• Bring your own drinking water bottle and towel

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER, BENEDICTE: 

Benedicte is a 500hr Yoga Teacher and Holistic Life Coach. Before her love for yoga also turned into her profession, she conquered the fields of Business Psychology and Social Work – ranging from children, young people, to social project management, and human resources. Benedicte teaches different styles of yoga such as Yin and Restorative Yoga, Meditation, Yoga NIdra and Hatha Vinyasa based on the Zuna Yoga® approach. At the center of this approach lies a unique system of Breathing that stimulates the vital energies of the body, providing strength, conditioning and balance to the mind and the body's systems.
