Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

Depression is a severe and prolonged state of mind in which normal sadness grows into a painful state of hopelessness, listlessness, lack of motivation and fatigue. It can vary from mild to severe. When depression is mild, you find yourself brooding on your own negative aspects or those of others. You may feel resentful, irritable or angry much of the time, feeling sorry for yourself, and feeling that you need reassurance from someone. You may suffer various physical complaints that do not seem to be caused by any physical illness.
You find your energy for activities that you used to enjoy, has hit ‘rock bottom’. you can’t sleep, or you sleep too much, you can’t eat, or you eat too much.

You may even feel that life is not worth living and begin to get thoughts that you’d be better off dead.

Length: Minimum 8 sessions
Intensity: 2 hours per week
Ideal for: Those who have suffered from recurrent depression & those have been advised to remain on antidepressant medication for rest of their life , MBCT can be an alternative treatment.

I know how it feels to struggle with moments of overwhelming anxiety and stress and not knowing how to handle my emotions. It was only until I left my 14-year professional career and embarked on a journey of self-discovery that I really got to the core of my struggles. It was on that journey, I found Mindfulness. The tools and techniques I learnt were transformative and not only helped me find my way but also helped me find myself. I became more self-aware, understood my emotional triggers and learnt how to process my thoughts in a much kinder, non-judgmental way.
 
My personal healing experience, as well as my extensive training in Mindfulness, has allowed me to develop programs, workshops, retreats and speaking events to help others just like me, improve their mental wellbeing. With Mindfulness, I believe anyone can become a happier and healthier version of themselves.
